Our Latinx Deaf Ecosystem Directory is a listing of local and nationwide Latinx Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, Hard of Hearing, Late-Deafened (DDBDDHHLD)-owned businesses in California and the United States. California Manos del Corazón recognizes a movement of Latinx Deaf Ecosystem because we need our own economic power to give back to Latinx DDBBDDHHLD communities. The term “Deaf Ecosystem” was coined by Kelby Brick, Director of Maryland Governor’s Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. According to the website (Maryland.gov), to enable empowerment, purchasing power, and economic mobility of Deaf and hard of hearing individuals, the Deaf Ecosystem’s fundamental approach is to retain and harness the collective socio-economic power within the community’s individuals, organizations, and businesses through community collaboration and support.
